The 1966 World Cup Final

Image

London's Wembley Stadium provided the venue for the memorable England V Germany mtch of the 1966 World Cup Final, and 98,000 people crammed inside to watch.

The famous line up and starting eleven were Gordon Banks, George Cohen, Jack Charlton, Bobby Moore, Ray Wilson, Nobby Stiles, Alan Ball, Bobby Charlton, Martin Peters, Geoff Hurst & Roger Hunt.

With the score level at 2-2 at the end of 90 minutes, the game went to extra time. In the 98th minute Geoff Hurst found himself on the score sheet again.

England's final goal was scored by Geoff Hurst again, during a pitch invasion. This made Geoff Hurst the only player ever to have scored three times in a World Cup final. We have a wide selection of original Geoff Hurst autographs including books, shirts and autographed First Day Covers.

England received the recovered Jules Rimet trophy from Queen Elizabeth II and were crowned World Cup winners for the first and only time.
